Does the trade work in NHL 24?
On Wednesday the Ottawa Senators traded Vladimir Tarasenko to the Florida Panthers for two draft picks.
The trade boosts the Panthers already strong forward core for a deep playoff run while the Senators once again become trade deadline sellers.
The return has left many Senators fans underwhelmed given Tarasenko's solid 17 goals and 41 points in 57 games this season.
Given the fallout from the trade we wanted to see if it would be accepted in NHL 24's Franchise Mode.
Ultimately the trade did not go through when we attempted to make it as Florida, but it did when we attempted it as Ottawa.
In real life Tarasenko had a no-move clause and reportedly preferred a move to Florida, so that decreases much of the leverage that the Senators had. Nonetheless, the Senators did not seem eager to make the trade in NHL 24.
