Who makes the best trade offer for Laine?
With Patrik Laine reportedly wanting a trade out of Columbus we opened the trade block in NHL 24 to see what kind of offers the game thinks the Blue Jackets could get for the former 40 goal scorer.
Laine only played 18 games in real life this season, but he was able to score 48 points in the simulation, still well below his past results.
We attempted to trade him with an open block both at the draft and when free agency opened, we only received six offers.

Vegas was the most popular suitor, sending three different offers, one including Robin Lehner.
The most surprising deal came from St. Louis, who offered Jordan Binnington and two draft picks in return.
Given he is also on the trade block we tried to trade Laine 1-for-1 for Martin Necas, which was emphatically rejected by Carolina.
Although most of these offers are likely a better return than Columbus can expect for Laine, we could see both Vegas and Utah being teams who pursue the sniper.
