With recent reports that Mario Ferraro is back on the trade block, we booted up NHL 24 to see who offers the most for the San Jose Sharks defenseman.
We simulated up to the 2024 NHL draft and searched on the open trade block. Ferraro had 11 goals and 38 points in this simulation, finishing as a minus 25 while playing 25 minutes a game.
The 25-year-old defender has two seasons remaining on a contract that pays him $3.25 million annually.
In total 14 teams made 16 different offers for Ferraro. The best offer was likely the Boston Bruins offering Mason Lohrei, a third and fourth round draft pick in return. Given Lohrei's playoff performance it is unlikely Boston would make this offer in real life.
Other solid offers included two second round picks from Arizona/Utah, Jackson Blake and two draft picks from Carolina, the 29th overall pick from Toronto, and Nikita Chibrikov and a second round pick from Winnipeg.
It will be interesting to see if Ferraro does end up being traded and if the return is anywhere close to what NHL 24 thinks.
