Adding Matt Davis to NHL 24

University of Denver goalie Matt Davis is drawing lots of interest from NHL teams after leading the Pioneers to the 2024 National Championship, winning tournament Most Outstanding Player in the process.
Despite Davis telling The Denver Post that he is not focused on the NHL at the moment, we wanted to create Davis in NHL 24 and see where he signs.
The 22-year-old posted a 23-5-3 record with a 2.34 GAA and .917 save percentage this season.
Davis was the backup for his first two season at Denver, capturing his first National Championship in the 2021-22 season.

We decided to rate Davis at 72 overall with medium starter potential, slightly higher than Magnus Chrona (70) - who Davis backed-up for two seasons - and slightly lower than Drew Commesso (74), two recent high-pedigree goalies who signed out of the NCAA.
Davis is very athletic and extremely quick, he also catches with his right hand, an always intriguing skillset for a goaltender.
We inserted Davis into franchise mode to see who signed him, and he ultimately decided to sign with Montreal almost immediately. The Canadiens signed him to a a three-year entry-level contract and bolstered their goaltending depth with some high upside.
There is still a chance Davis returns to Denver to try and capture a third National Championship, but he would be a great bet for any NHL team to make.
