Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Roy is reportedly set to hit free agency after six seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.
A 6'2, 210 pound right-handed defender, Roy should have a slew of potential suitors come July 1st. In order to try and predict where he will sign, we simulated free agency in NHL 24.

In this simulation Roy put up four goals and 23 points, was a minus 19 and played 19:35 a night in second pair minutes as Los Angeles missed the playoffs.
Roy's initial ask was $5.375 million on a five-year deal, he wanted $5.875 million per-year on a max term eight-year deal.
He had multiple suitors during free agency and ultimately ended up signing with the Anaheim Ducks on a six-year deal that pays $5.695 million annually.
As a bonus, the Edmonton Oilers offered Xavier Bourgault and a 2025 third round pick for Roy and a 2025 fourth round pick while we were simulating.
Roy would be a good fit on the right side in Anaheim and could help mentor and stabilize a group that boasts lots of up and coming left handed defense prospects.
