Does this trade work in NHL 24?
With the Tampa Bay Lightning reacquiring defenseman Ryan McDonagh from the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, we simulated the trade in NHL 24 to see if it would go through.
This will be McDonagh's second go with the Lightning after he reportedly asked for a trade out of Nashville.
A two-time Stanley Cup winner with Tampa, McDonagh notched 52 points in 145 games with the Predators over two seasons, helping them make the playoffs this year.
In NHL 24 the trade did not go through when he proposed the trade as Tampa Bay, but it easily went through when we proposed the trade as Nashville.
Given the enthusiasm Tampa Bay had for receiving McDonagh, EA SPORTS seems to think that Tampa Bay wins this trade. In real life however, Nashville frees up lots of cap space and receive a solid asset for a 35-year-old defenseman.
