With the quarterfinals getting underway at the 2024 Men's IIHF World Championship we booted up NHL 24 and simulated the USA versus Czechia game to see who came out on top.
The USA finished second in Group B while Czechia was third in Group A, both had 16 points.
The goaltending starters were not named at the time of writing so we went with Petr Mrazek for Czechia and Charlie Lindgren for the USA, the higher overall goalie for both teams.
In this simulation the United States were able to take this game 3-2 and advance to the semifinals of the IIHF World Championship.

After an opening goal from Trevor Zegras, the USA got two quick goals and the eventual game winner from Brock Nelson.
Czechia got goals from Ondrej Kase and Dominik Kubalik.
The Czechs had a five on three late on the third but could only convert once, narrowly missing out on a chance to tie the game.
There were only 26 total shots in this game as both teams played good defense, but Mrazek kept Czechia in the game with a big breakaway save on Johnny Gaudreau.
