With Reilly Smith's name popping back up in trade rumors we booted up NHL 24 to see if the Penguins can get anything of value in return for the veteran forward in Franchise Mode.
In the simulation Smith had a similar season to the one he had in real life, posting 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points, almost identical to the 13 goals and 40 points he scored in real life.
We received 15 trade offers for Smith at the draft and on July 1st, with Tampa Bay offering the same trade on both occasions.

During the draft several teams offered third and fourth round draft picks. Once we reached free agency however the offers began to fall off.
The New York Rangers offered Barclay Goodrow in return, something we doubt either team would propose in real life.
The Vegas Golden Knights, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New York Rangers all sent multiple offers, so NHL 24 thinks those teams will be inquiring about Smith.
If Pittsburgh is looking to send Smith to a more favorable situation in return for cap space, we could see them making a trade for a mid-round pick and low level prospect like NHL 24 proposed.
