The Anaheim Ducks have signed Hobey Baker finalist Cutter Gauthier to a three-year entry level contract. Originally a selection of the Philadelphia Flyers, Gauthier was traded to Anaheim in exchange for Jamie Drysdale in January.
The fifth overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft, Gauthier lead the NCAA in goals with 38 and put up 65 points in 41 games.
We ultimately decided to give Gauthier elite medium potential. His draft position, his college success and the trade he was involved in all warrant elite potential.
His 79 overall would place him above Shane Wright but below other contemporaries like Juraj Slafkovsky, Logan Cooley and Simon Nemec, who each have played the entire season in the NHL.

With this rating the first ten picks from the 2022 draft all have elite potential in NHL 24.
For his Zone Ability we gave Gauthier Make It Snappy to highlight his goal scoring prowess. His two Super star Abilities are All Alone and Close Quarters.
We predict Gauthier's stats to be slightly more slanted towards his offensive skills, but we expect Gauthier will improve quickly with his elite potential.
