Which four teams advanced to the semifinals of the CapsGaming Showcase

@capsgaming via Twitter/X - CapsGaming Season 5 Showcase Semifinals Are Set

Last night, eight out of the best competitive NHL 24 6's teams faced off in the quarterfinals of the CapsGaming Showcase. IslesGT is looking to win back-to-back events after they took home the SJSharks Pacific Cup last season.

Both IslesGT and The Underdogs remain in the battle, and it's trending like we will see those teams face off again in the finals as they did for the SJSharks Pacific Cup. The Underdogs came into the playoffs as the No. 1 ranked team, while IslesGT is No. 2.

The Underdogs took on Team BBB in their quarterfinal matchup last night and cruised to a 3-0 series win.

IslesGT faced off against Team Scary Hours, taking them out of the tournament in four games. Defenseman for IslesGT Regs — who will be competing in the NHL 24 North American Console Finals Championship on Mar. 23 — led the way for his club with a goal and four assists in their series.

Then we had a couple of evenly matched teams go at it. The no. 3 rank, Never Unlucky, took on the No. 4 rank, SJSharks Gaming. Left winger "Reidxrs" for the Sharks came up clutch, scoring the game-winning goal in game two. Never Unlucky fought hard to remain in the series in game three, but the Sharks won 4-3 and took the series 3-0 to advance.

The last quarterfinal matchup was the closest of them all. The no. 5 rank and hosts, CapsGaming, faced the No. 6 rank, One Nation. This series had to go the distance to a do-or-die game five. Both teams traded wins through the first four games of the series, three of them being won by one score. A two-goal performance by "Barzy" from One Nation proved to be the difference in that game and sent the host team home.

    The semifinals are as follows:

No. 4 SJSharks Gaming vs No. 1 The Underdogs
No. 6 One Nation vs No. 2 IslesGT

Both matchups will take place tonight at 9 pm EST and will decide who goes to the Mar. 30 LAN Finals in Washington, DC. The prize pool for this event is $15,000
