Round one of the CBJ Gaming 1v1 tournament begins tonight
Above are the standings from open play for the CBJ Gaming 1v1 NHL 24 tournament. The Rusty Gremlin finished atop the leaderboards playing 15 games and going 14-1.
Round one of the tournament playoffs goes down tonight. The top 32 best players will face off in a best-of-three elimination bracket in pursuit of the $1,000 cash price. Below are the matchups for round one.
Here are some notable players with their rank at the end of open play and their round-one opponents.
NHL 24 World Champion Ethan “Polgz” Kerr-Polgar finished in sixth place and faces off against 27th-ranked, McCutch.
NHL 24 Maple Leafs Gaming Club Champion Matthew “Geimer” Geim finished in 15th place and is playing against 17th-ranked, CoreyPerry1.
NHL 24 North American Championship runner-up Dany-Karl “Deeks” Lévesque finished 13th and faces off against Sapsterr.
San Jose Shark Club Champion and a member of the final eight in the NHL 24 North American Championship, Matteo “Sauceshow” Russo finished runner-up in the open play standings but has a tough matchup against the NHL 24 Stadium Series Open winner, Josh “Fussy” Fuss.
Dallas Stars Club Champion and another member of the final eight in the NHL 24 North American Championship, Tristan “Segween” Aun finished fourth and his first round opponent is Perellzy.
Nikolas “Boogie” Kritikos finished top eight as well in the NHL 24 North American Championship. But, he’s on the lower end of the playoff bracket having finished 24th and facing off against SafirSnipezGold.
Charles-Olivier “Loko Crusty” Tremblay, a superstar in the NHL 6v6 ESports scene for The Underdogs, and Los Angeles Kings Club Champion finished third and takes on Ben4hire.
Vegas Golden Knights Club Champion Brett “Desyy” Deschene finished fifth place and Florida Panthers Club Champion Ben “Uninsta1l” Thomson finished 25th.

Uninsta1l took down 8th-placed HasbullaGaming 2-0 and then Boogie 2-1 in the round of 16.
(4) Segween vs. (12) Tdxbzz
Segween defeated Sapsterr 2-1 in the round of 16 after Sapsterr had a big underdog win against Deeks in the first round.
(2) Sauceshow vs. (23) Wrxsto
(3) Loko Crusty vs. (6) Polgz
By far the toughest and most exciting matchup in the third round is between Loko Crusty and Polgz.
