Washington Capitals Gaming Team, CapsGaming, are the winners of the NHL 24 CBJ Gaming 6v6 Finale ESports tournament

The CBJ Gaming 6v6 NHL 24 tournament came to a close last night. CapsGaming defeated Team Starstruck in their best-of-five series 3-1, taking home the organization’s first 6v6 tournament win since the IGT 24 Open earlier this year, hosted by the New York Islanders Gaming organization.

The team took home the grand prize of $4,000 and all the chel bragging rights.

Here is the CapsGaming winning roster

    C - Fussy
    LW - Polgz
    RW - Gren
    LD - Geimer
    RD - Shaunaldinho
    G - Effect

    Utility: Bwubzz, IluvCappin, Uninstall

The CapsGaming team is led by the EA Sports NHL 24 World Champion, Ethan “Polgz” Kerr-Polgar. Unlike his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, Polgz showed up when it matters the most and led the playoffs in scoring with 23 goals and 47 points in 24 games.

However, this team wasn't just a one-man Polgz show. Their right winger, Erikeu1989, also known as the NHL 24 North American Champion, Matthew "Gren" Grenier was recruited in replace of the NHL 24 All-Star Open champ, Samuel "CadCooks" Landry

Another new member of their squad was centerman, Josh "Fussy" Fuss, who won the NHL 24 Stadium Series Open in February.

And then you have their defenseman on the left side, Matthew "Geimer" Geim, who took home the NHL 24 Maple Leafs Gaming Club Championship.

The Caps took Game 1 of the finals by a score of 4-1 thanks to a three-goal third period and a hat trick by Gren

Game 2 the Caps took handily with a 4-0 victory and a nine save shutout by goaltender, Effect. The boys up front shared the wealth. Polgz and Fussy each registered three points, while Gren added another goal and an assist to his production in the finals.

Through two games, Team Starstruck had only mustered up one goal, but the stats showed that they weren’t being outplayed heavily in the series thus far. Either way, you can’t win hockey games in real life or in the video game if you don’t score, and while The Stars didn’t get much production in Game 3, they stayed alive with a 2-1 win and forced a Game 4.

Team Starstruck were able to get three goals past the Caps goaltender Effect, but the forwards for CapsGaming unleashed their firepower and finished off the series with a 6-3 Game 4 win.

Gren had a four-goal, six-point Game 4 to help seal the championship for his team. He finished the finals with eight goals and 11 points, proving to be an amazing addition to the team's roster in replace of CadCooks.

With NHL 24 near the end of its cycle, this tournament appears to be the last 6v6 North America NHL 24 ESports event. However, these players have another opportunity to compete in the recently announced CBJ Gaming NHL 24 1v1 Finale.

Will Polgz continue to add to his standout NHL gaming resume?
