Vatanen and Filppula highlight new cards
After defeating Skelleftea AIK on Tuesday to capture the 2024 Champions League title six Geneve-Servette players received Headliners cards in NHL 24 Hockey Ultimate Team.
The European community has been largely underserved this year and it is great to see usable European players from European teams added to HUT.
Geneve-Servette were founded in 1905 and are the oldest team in the Swiss National League. After winning their first Swiss title in their storied history last season, Geneve-Servette follow it up by becoming champions of Europe.

Jussi Olkinuora - 90 - G HYB
Olkinuora is a goalie with good size and two of the most sought after abilities, the Post to Post Zone Ability and the Light Work Superstar Ability.
He has good quickness stats and is worth trying out as your goalie if you can land him. This is Olkinuora's first card of the season.
Sami Vatanen - 92 - LD OFD
Vatanen receives his fifth and only usable card of the season, and it is an incredibly skilled one.
Although not the biggest player, Vatanen has 95 balance and agility, as well as 93 strength. Elite Edges being activated would improve this card's already superb skating, while his Offensive Defenseman synergy would give him a deadly shot.
Despite his offensive focus Vatanen has 95 shot blocking and stick checking, with the Shutdown ability that could make him even better.
This card is a must have.
Valtteri Filppula - 90 - C TWF
Filppula is a well-rounded card that can be played anywhere in your lineup depending on how you activate his abilities. He has Close Quarters, Off The Rush and Quick Draw to help mold him to your needs.
Tanner Richard - 90 - C TWF
Richard is similar to Filppula, he is a well balanced card who leans slightly more towards a playmaker than a scorer.
Two Way Forward or Elite Edges activated would help Richard improve on his strengths.
This is Richard's first card of the season.
Teemu Hartikainen - 90 - LW GRN
Rarely do you see a 90 overall grinder in HUT, let alone one with with such good speed. Hartikainen does not have the best hands but if you activate Make It Snappy he will be a serviceable shooter.
Hartikainen's balance, strength and body checking stats will make him a battering ram on the ice. Add in his Grinding Forward synergy and he will be impossible to knock off the puck.
He could be a fun and useful player on many different team builds.
Daniel Winnik - 90 - LW TWF
Winnik becomes the third rock solid two way forward in this release, coming with the Two Way Forward and Accelerator Boost synergies.
This card comes with Close Quarters and Wheels to help improve one category of Winnik's specialties. Although Winnik does nothing spectacular he is solid everywhere, and would make a good bottom six player.
This is Winnik's first card of the season.
