The Official NHL 24 HUT Deep Dive Trailer was released by EA SPORTS NHL 24 on Friday, September 22. The trailer entails some of the most exciting aspects of the mode. In this article, I share my personal favorite features that were shared in the deep dive.
For the first time, players on same-generation consoles will have one shared HUT market. Players on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X will share one HUT market, and similarly, players on PS4 and Xbox One will share one HUT market. This feature was highly requested because it increases the availability of various cards, making the market more dynamic and stable at the same time (i.e., supply and demand, popularity of cards, etc.). Simply put, more integration of same-generation consoles only benefits the game.
In addition to what the mode is all about, which is reliving the most significant moments in hockey's history and during this upcoming season, there are two aspects of the mode that I am particularly excited about. Firstly, thinking about HUT Challenges, which are being replaced by HUT Moments, players could complete challenges using their own HUT lineup. However, in each HUT Moment, players dive into the moment's contextual situation. In other words, the same set of players that were part of that moment will be placed in that situation again for you to relive it. So, allowing players to play with a customized lineup that matches the moment will keep the game mode fresh and exciting. Secondly, you can immediately back out of the game upon completing all the HUT Moment's objectives. Of course, you still have the option to play till the final whistle if you choose. Overall, HUT Moments appears to have taken the best features of HUT Challenges, took it to a whole new level, and revamped the entire core of what the mode is all about, which is to relive hockey's most significant moments rather than some vague and meaningless objective-based challenges for small rewards.
Players can now seamlessly share their HUT lineup, accomplishments, and stats on social media with the all-new HUT Share. Overall, HUT Share improves the social sharing aspect of the game, which only serves and benefits the Chel community.
NHL 24 will be available worldwide on Oct. 6, 2023, on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One, with three days of early access, dual-entitlement and more if fans pre-order the X-Factor Edition. Fans can pre-order the game now to get on the ice and experience these game-changing gameplay improvements early. For more information on EA SPORTS NHL 24, visit https://www.ea.com/games/nhl/nhl-24.
