NA Open Play wrapped up on Sunday

Hello Hockey News Gaming readers. My name is Steven McGoey and I am one of the Editors of THN's Gaming site.
This weekend I decided to participate in the NHL 24 World Championship North America Online Play.
Some background on my Chel ability this season, I am in Division 4 in Rivals and Division 1 in EASHL. I have been in Division 1 in past games but am definitely past my prime.

I did not play HUT in NHL 24 until January, so I think I have a decent team all things considered. That being said, I had by far the worst team out of anyone I played against in this event and it showed in both the gameplay and results.
My gameplay did not start off strong, I lost all three of my qualifying games and began the Open Play with 813 round points and sat at rank 281. I got my first win in my fifth game and sat at 1-4 and rank 839 after five games.
Here is a brief montage of some of the few highlights I had.
Ultimately I finished 2-7 and rank 1022. There were two games I threw away with bad turnovers or by playing the puck with my goalie when I did not need to.
It was a fun experience but my team was not good enough to compete with the majority of other teams.
56 players total will qualify for the North American Intermediate Rounds from the Open Play once the results are processed.
