Breaking down the latest Team of the Week in NHL 24 HUT

Breaking down the latest Team of the Week in NHL 24 HUT

EA SPORTS NHL 24 - New York Rangers Players Dominate NHL 24's TOTW

The latest Team of the Week in Hockey Ultimate Team features three New York Rangers. Adam Fox and Artemi Panarin highlight the new release, each receiving a 94-rated card.

Below, we break down the new cards added to the game and what the players did in the past week to earn them.

All player stats mentioned below take place from Feb. 14-21.

    Artemi Panarin - LW, PLY

"The Bread Man" continued his outstanding season with back-to-back three-point games against Montreal and the Islanders, and he is coming off a three-assist game last night against the Devils. His overtime game-winner at the NHL Stadium Series Game tied a career-high for him with 32.

Panarin was recently given an MSP card for the Style Icons event, and players who worked towards leveling that card up to 93 won't be happy. His new card has higher agility — 99 compared to 96 — but has lower endurance at 86.

The most interesting part of his TOTW card is his zone ability, Shrug it Off. If Shrug it Off does indeed significantly reduce energy lost when hit, then the value of this card would increase.

    Adam Fox - RD, OFD

Adam Fox continues to receive upgrades in NHL 24 HUT. Throughout the year, Fox has earned a Star of the Month card, three Live Moments, and now his third Team of the Week.

He has 46 points in 46 games and, within his last four games, has recorded six assists and seven points. He had a four-assist outing on Feb. 15 versus Montreal.

Fox's cards always have excellent skating, hands, and defensive stats. The issue is his size. His TOTW card does have silver Shrug it Off, however.

    Chris Kreider - LW, PWF

The last of the Rangers trio, Kreider scored a hat trick in their game against Montreal and has produced 18 shots in his last four games (five goals in that time frame).

For someone who is one of the stronger straight-line skaters in the NHL, EA giving him only 89 acceleration on this card doesn't seem right. He does come with Accelerator Boost that can get his acceleration up to 91, but his endurance is very low at 82.

His shooting stats are strong, and he has Sniper Forward synergy. Obviously, Kreider has terrific size, and this card comes with gold Unstoppable Force to make it even harder to knock him off the puck.

    Claude Giroux - C, PLY

Giroux netted four points in four games from Feb. 15-20. He is currently on a seven-game point streak with nine points.

If you are looking for a centerman card to win you faceoffs, then go pick up a Giroux card. His TOTW has 94 faceoffs and comes with Defensive Boost synergy that can get it up to 98.

Skating is solid at 92 speed and acceleration and 94 agility, with silver elite edges. Shock and Awe is a fun zone ability to play around with and to score some nasty toe drag wristers with.

    Travis Konecny - RW, TWF

Konecny's breakout season continues to churn along, with five points in his last three. Philadelphia's agitator is on a seven-game point streak with goals in five of his last seven and 12 points through those games.

For a 90 overall card, it's fairly average. 91 speed and acceleration, 93 agility, and just fine shooting stats. He does have good defensive stats with 91 defensive awareness, 93 stick checking, and Two-Way Forward synergy.

Gold Unstoppable Force as its zone ability and Make it Snappy are worth using, but his other two superstar abilities of Tape to Tape and Puck on a String are pretty meh.
