Does the trade work in Franchise Mode?

On Tuesday the Vegas Golden Knights acquired Anthony Mantha from the Washington Capitals for a 2024 second and a 2026 fourth round pick, Washington also retained 50% of his salary.

The 29-year-old has 20 goals and 34 points in 56 games this season and is set to play for a true cup contender for the first time in his career.

Given the rumored prices at this deadline and the relatively fair price Vegas paid we wanted to see if this trade would work in NHL 24.

Mantha only had nine goals and 23 points in the simulation and was down to an 81 overall.

The trade was successful and the Washington Capitals management group was ecstatic to get Mantha off the team and proclaimed that their fans would be cheering in the streets. They had no qualms with retaining half his salary.

While NHL 24 is lower on Mantha than many are in real life, the draft compensation that Vegas is sending to Washington seems to be a win for all sides.
