
The second semi-final in the NHL 24 World Championship is complete, with Ethan "Polgz" Kerr-Polgar taking down Matthew "Gren" Grenier in two games, he advances to face Justin "Regs" Reguly in a best-of-three final.
Polgz was one of four players who competed at the All-Star Open. He then finished top eight in the North American Bracket and qualified for the World Championship by finishing top four at the North American Championship.
Gren is one of the most storied players in NHL Esports, he won both the NHL 24 and 2021 North American Championship. He originally qualified by winning the Buffalo Sabres Club Championship and by finishing top eight in the North American Bracket.

Polgz is representing the Toronto Maple Leafs, while Gren is representing the Buffalo Sabres.
The 21-year-old Polgz came out firing in game 1, jumping out to a 4-1 lead and looked poised to win big. Gren responded with two goals to cut the lead to one. After a tight-checking final few minutes Polgz emerged with a game 1 win.
Game 2 was extremely even, with Polgz up 1-0 entering the third period. He was able to add two more in third, pushing the lead to 3-0. Gren had his opportunities but could not buy a goal. Polgz ultimately held on for the 3-0 victory.
With the win Polgz will face Regs in a best-of-three final to determine the NHL 24 World Champion.
Polgz is an up and coming star while Regs is one of the most decorated players in NHL Esports.
Gren will take home $5,000 USD, while Polgz hopes to take home the $30,000 grand prize.
