Four Club Championship winners face-off
The second LAN of the NHL eSports season is fast approaching, with four players competing in the EA SPORTS NHL 24 Stadium Series Open on Saturday February 17th.
To mirror the teams who are playing in the Stadium Series, the Club Championship winners from the New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers and New York Islanders will be competing.
The Islanders' Club Championship takes place on February 16th, with the winner earning the final spot in the Stadium Series Open.
The competitors are
- Ben "DunkinDeli" Pasqua - Philadelphia Flyers
- John "Fussy" Fuss - New York Rangers
- Scott "Henreek" Bumbaco - New Jersey Devils
- TBD - New York Islanders
Since all of the competing players have already qualified for the EA SPORTS NHL 24 North American Bracket this is an exhibition tournament.
The players will compete in variations of 2v2 games:
Game 1: NYI/NJD vs. NYR/PHI
Game 2: NYI/PHI vs. NYR/NJD
Game 3: NYI/NYR vs. NJD/PHI
The top two players after these games will face-off in a 1v1 game to determine the Champion.
The team aspect of the round robin culminating in a one-on-one matchup will feature interesting play-styles and will be a fun dynamic for both players and viewers.
The competition is taking place at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The games begin at 3pm and can be viewed on the NHL's Twitch channel.
