13 X-Factor cards available on launch, including a charged Connor McDavid

NHL 25 has taken a new approach to X-Factor players in Hockey Ultimate Team. 

There are currently 13 X-Factor cards separated into three tiers: base, captain, and charged.

The base cards are Marcel Noebels, MacKenzie Weegar, Lucas Raymond, Robert Thomas, Cole Caufield, Elias Pettersson, Mario Ferraro, and Nico Hischier, these players do not have upgradeable tiers. 

William Nylander, Miro Heiskanen, Adam Fox, and Nikita Kucherov do have upgradeable tiers and will improve throughout the year. 

Connor McDavid has the lone charged X-Factor card that is upgradeable throughout the year. This card's X-Factor abilities can be activated with no AP cost. 

In order to build the McDavid card players must trade in all eight base X-Factor cards to receive the captains cards, then trade in all four captains cards. You do receiev two of the four captains cards back once you complete the set for the charged McDavid.

X-Factor tokens appear to have replaced power up collectibles, but they work the same way. 

Many of the eight base players are currently the most affordable in the auction house, going for around 95k coins each.  

NHL 25 will be released in full for those who do not plan on purchasing the Deluxe Edition on Oct. 4.
