Connor McDavid Along with Seven Other Edmonton Oilers Obtain New NHL 24 Cards

NHL 24 Hockey Ultimate Team gave Edmonton players new cards for advancing to the Stanley Cup Final

Eight players from the Edmonton Oilers received new upgradable Hockey Ultimate Team Cards in NHL 24. Every card is set at 96 overall and can be upgraded by +2 to 98 if the Oilers bring home the Stanley Cup. An additional +1 will be added to the Conn Smythe winner.

The Edmonton players who received these new cards are; Adam Henrique, Cody Ceci, Connor Brown, Mattias Ekholm, Zach Hyman, Ryan Hugent-Hopkins, Evan Bouchard, and Connor McDavid.

There are two names there who have the potential of winning the Conn Smythe Trophy — Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard — and reach that pinnacle 99 overall rating.

Now for HUT players who are wondering how good these cards are, to put it politely, for a 96-rated card, they suck.

Connor McDavid’s card is the only one worth using if you are running a team with the best cards in the game. Of course, he has 99 speed, acceleration, and agility, but his endurance is a low 86, which appears to be the set-in-stone rating for all of the Stanley Cup Playoffs custom build cards.

His hands stats are 99 across the board, and with Ankle Breaker and Elite Edges abilities equipped, you could have fun deking around your opposition. I understand that the developers don’t want McDavid to have the ability ‘Wheels’ on all his cards, but I’d make the exception for him.

Interestingly enough, Adam Henrique’s card is one of the easiest to max out on shooting stats out of the eight new Oilers cards. Since he already has 99 wrist shot and slap shot power, all you need to do is activate the Shooting Boost synergy and he’ll reach 99 in the accuracy stats.
