Chicago Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard received a new card in NHL 24 HUT

EA SPORTS released three new HUT Headliner cards in NHL 24 Hockey Ultimate Team, with Connor Bedard's five-point night as the highlight. At 93 overall, this is Bedard's newly highest-rated card in the game, but we're sure this won't be the last upgrade he receives.

His new card offers players the ability to create highlight-reel plays and goals. It comes with Shock and Awe zone ability, maximum wrist shot, and deking stats. You'll be able to go out and attempt his patent toe-drag release in the game.

As a smaller forward, he's easy to knock off the puck, but they gave up silver Unstoppable Force and Shrug It Off to minimize the impact of him getting hit around the ice.

Bedard scored his 20th goal of the season and four assists on Mar. 12 at home against the Anaheim Ducks. It has been a tough, tough season for the Chicago Blackhawks, and their franchise player suffered a jaw injury that made him miss a month's worth of playing time in his first NHL season.

Despite the turmoil and injury, Bedard's year has been frankly incredible, with all things considered. The lack of talent around him has been evident. The Blackhawks have the fifth-worst powerplay at 15.89%. They have been battling it out with the San Jose Sharks all year for the lowest-scoring team in the NHL.

Yet, he's still around a point per game, with 55 points in 57 games. Bettors had his total goals for the year set at around 31.5. It's unlikely he hits the over - and Chicago does not have an easy schedule on the horizon - but Bedard has that natural goal-scoring talent, like Auston Matthews, that you just never know what might happen.

We got a couple of other players in honor of both of them also recording five-point games when they were 18 in the NHL. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins from the Edmonton Oilers and Dale Hawerchuk, a Winnipeg Jets alumni. Both cards are 93 overall.

RNH recorded a five-assist game on Nov. 19, 2011, against the Chicago Blackhawks, which was a thumping with the Oilers winning 9-2. Taylor Hall had a hat trick, and Jordan Eberle had four points that night.

Hawerchuk's five-point game came on Mar. 13, 1982, 22 days before his 19th birthday. He had a hat trick and two assists against the Toronto Maple Leafs. As a rookie, he put up an astonishing 45 goals and 103 points in 80 games. He took home Rookie of the Year that season.
