Team World is the first of three releases

Team World is the first of three releases

Week 1 Team of The Season players have been revealed in NHL 24 Hockey Ultimate Team. The first of three releases, this week contains the World Team of The Season.

In total 12 new cards were released, six from the NHL and six from outside the NHL. Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar received both Team of The Year and Team of The Season cards.

Like Team of The Year, Team of The Season player cards will match match the overall of any future release of that player.

While the card art is improved from last year, receiving only nine cards that are different from TOTY is slightly underwhelming.

As of right now Natalie Spooner is the only set you can make of the World Team players, it is unclear if this was intentional or if the other missing players from this reveal will be buildable in the coming days.

A random Week 1 player can be acquired for 32 collectibles, while a specific player costs 40. Each of the NHL TOTS players can be built for some combination of a card trade in and collectibles.

There are currently seven objectives that can be completed for TOTS Week 1, completing all of them nets you three TOTS Collectibles.

All six of the current NHL players released are 96 overall except Connor Hellebuyck and Quinn Hughes who are 94 and 95 respectively. All six cards are elite and worth pursuing. Sami Vatanen is the highest of the World Team cards at 94, the rest come in at 92.

None of the World Team cards are above 6'1 or have blazing speed, but Vatanen and Sami Niku are agile defensemen. Niku comes with 97 body checking and 96 stick checking.

Natalie Spooner and Oscar Lindberg have good hands, checking and defensive stats, while Oula Palve comes with a big shot. Lars Johansson does not have great size for a goalie but he is extremely quick and comes with Light Work.
