The NCAA players who have signed recently with their club teams have also been added to the game. Auston Matthews and Quinn Hughes both received a +1 to their overalls, getting them to 95. Matthews finished his season one goal shy of 70, but still put forth a season for the ages becoming the first player to score 69 goals in a season since Mario Lemieux did it in 1995-96. Quinn Hughes broke his own record for most points by a defenseman in Canucks history. He currently has 91 points on the season with Vancouver's last game of the season tonight against Winnipeg. Hughes is seen as the front-runner to take home the Norris Trophy. Another player who got a boost to their overall in NHL 24, which was well deserved, is Juraj Slafkovsky. After a disappointing rookie season and a slow start to the year, the former first-overall pick ended up with a 20-goal campaign and 50 points, playing in all 82 games. His overall went from 82 to 84.
