Norway makes history with its first-ever semifinal berth, joining powerhouses Canada, Finland, and host Switzerland in a high-stakes battle for gold at Swiss Life Arena in Zurich.
The field is down to four at the IIHF World Hockey Championship in Switzerland. After the quarterfinals wrapped up, the semifinal matchups for Saturday at Swiss Life Arena in Zurich are officially set.
Canada shut out Team United States. Finland got past Czechia. Switzerland knocked off Sweden on home ice. And Norway, probably the coolest story left in the tournament honestly, is into the semifinals for the first time ever.
Since the IIHF re-seeds after the quarterfinal round based on preliminary standings, the bracket shifted a little once everything finished.
Semifinal Matchups

Canada vs. Finland
- Game Time: 8:00 PM local time (2:00 PM ET)
- Location: Swiss Life Arena, Zurich
- Key Storyline: Canada stayed perfect with a 4-0 win over Team United States, but Finland is probably the exact kind of opponent they didn’t want right now. Tight defensively, patient, and coming off a gritty win over Czechia.
