The Buffalo Sabres lost their second-straight game on Saturday to open the 2024-25 season against the New Jersey Devils, but goaltender Devon Levi could hardly be blamed for that. The 22-year-old stopped 34 of 37 Devils’ shots and kept his team in it for much of the game.

After the game, Levi fielded questions about a three-goalie situation in Buffalo along with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and James Reimer, his goals for the season, and 20-year-old Czech Jiří Kulich drawing into the lineup to play in his home country.

“It’s awesome,” the goalie said about Kulich’s chance to take the ceremonial faceoff. “Very rarely do you get to see that in, I think, it’s his second game.”
