When the Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils face off at O2 Arena in Prague for the first game of the 2023-24 season, Ondřej Palát will be in the lineup for the Devils but Jiří Kulich and Lukáš Rousek will apparently not play for the Sabres.
That already looked to be the case on Thursday when the pair of Sabres practised in yellow jerseys – the fifth line – which is usually an indication that players won’t dress for the game.
“Nobody has talked to us about it yet,” Rousek told the media after Thursday’s practise. “We concentrate on training, we do everything at 100 percent. We believe that the chance will come.“
“I have to be patient, keep working hard, battle and believe,” said Kulich. “There’s nothing more I can do about it. It’s nice to be back again, but it would be even nicer to play.”
