Nikolay Goldobin is having a great start to the KHL season.
While we wait for the start of the 2026-27 NHL regular-season, the KHL's regular-season is already on the way.
Interestingly, a former Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks forward is off to a wonderful start in the KHL: Nikolay Goldobin.
In six games with SKA St. Petersburg so far this season, Goldobin has posted an impressive 12 points. He has been showing off his playmaking skills in the process, as 11 of his 12 points are assists.
Goldobin is currently at the top of the KHL with 12 points as well. The two closest players behind are former NHL players Justin Bailey and Alexander Radulov, who both have nine.
Goldobin having this strong start to the season comes after he posted 16 goals and 47 points in 58 games with SKA St. Petersburg during the 2024-25 season. His best season in the KHL was back in 2023-24, as he posted 37 goals and 78 points in 67 games with Spartak Moscow.
Goldobin last played in the NHL with the Canucks during the 2019-20 season. In 125 games over five NHL seasons split between Vancouver and San Jose, he posted 19 goals, 27 assists, and 46 points.
