This former Golden Knights prospect is having a wonderful start to the season in the SHL.
Former Vegas Golden Knights prospect Lucas Elvenes is having a fantastic start to the 2026-27 season in the SHL.
In just five games with Vaxjo Lakers HC, Elvenes has scored two goals and already recorded 11 points. With this, he is currently at the top of the SHL in points and has been simply dominating.
Elvenes having this strong of a start to the season comes after he had a very good 2025-26 campaign with Vaxjo. In 51 games with the SHL club last season, he posted 12 goals, 38 assists, and 50 points. He also posted nine points in 10 playoff games for the SHL team last season.
With numbers like these, it is absolutely clear that Elvenes has been having plenty of success in the SHL. Now, he will be aiming to build on his hot start to the season as it carries on from here.
Elvenes was selected by the Golden Knights in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, 127th overall. He never appeared in an NHL with the Golden Knights or any other team.
Elvenes did play three seasons in the AHL, though. In 159 AHL games split between the Chicago Wolves, Henderson Silver Knights, and San Diego Gulls from 2019-20 to 2021-22, he posted 29 goals and 115 points.
