This former KHL forward had a strong game for the Sharks.
The San Jose Sharks defeated the Los Angeles Kings by a 5-4 final score in overtime on Saturday.
Sharks forward Igor Chernyshov undoubtedly played a big role in San Jose's win, as he scored two goals and recorded an assist. This included him scoring the overtime winner, so it was a special game for the 20-year-old forward.
Chernyshov is considered one of the Sharks' most promising young forwards, so it is a big deal that he has put together a game like this. San Jose is hoping that he will blossom into a high-impact forward for them, and he is undoubtedly showing signs of doing so early on in the campaign.
Chernyshov played in his 28 NHL games last season for San Jose, where he posted nine goals, 10 assists, and 19 points. Overall, the former KHL forward has been showing a lot of promise with the Sharks, and it will now be intriguing to see how he continues to build his game from here.
