This is tough news for the former KHL forward.

A former KHL forward is set to miss a good amount of time with the St. Louis Blues.

The Blues have announced that forward Alexey Toropchenko is expected to miss the next six weeks at least due to an upper-body injury.

Toropchenko was injured during the Blues' recent contest against the Dallas Stars. Now, with this update, the 6-foot-6 forward is going to be sidelined for a while.

Toropchenko is a solid part of the Blues' bottom six, so they are going to miss him while he is out. He provides plenty of grit in his role, and the Blues are going to need to adjust while he is out of the lineup.

Toropchenko spent one season in the KHL with Kunlun Red Star during the 2020-21 campaign. In 45 games with the KHL that season, he posted seven goals, four assists, 11 points, and 39 penalty minutes.

Since his lone KHL season, Toropchenko has exclusively played for the Blues and their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
