This former Liiga forward is currently sidelined for the Blackhawks.
The Chicago Blackhawks are currently without former Liiga forward Teuvo Teravainen.
Teravainen suffered an ankle injury during Chicago's recent matchup against the St. Louis Blues. Now, it has been confirmed that Teravainen is not traveling with the Blackhawks for their upcoming road game against the New York Islanders.
With the Blackhawks looking to bounce back from their cold start to the season, it is less than ideal that Teravainen is now injured. Yet, the Blackhawks will now need to adjust while the veteran forward is sidelined.
Teravainen has appeared in three games this season for the Blackhawks, where he has recorded two assists. This is after he had 14 goals, 21 assists, and 35 points in 75 games for the Original Six club during the 2025-26 season.
Before making the jump to the NHL, Teravainen spent several seasons developing his game in Finland. His most recent season in Liiga was during the 2013-14 campaign with Jokerit, where he posted nine goals and 44 points in 49 games.
