Alex Ovechkin nears a pivotal career announcement while top prospect Nazar Privalov and several former NHL players headline a massive wave of summer signings across the league.
Well, it's time for another KHL News & Notes. The KHL news has been heating up, even more so since the NHL's RFA window has come and gone.
Thankfully, Hockey News Hub on X has been tracking the transfers and signings. So, let's break down the biggest signings over the few days.
First up, 2027 NHL Draft top prospect Nazar Privalov is expected to sign a long-term deal with HC CSKA Moscow. According to Hockey News Hub, the deal is thought to be in the four-to-five-year range.

Reports suggest that he will make his decision on July 25th in St. Petersburg as part of the "2026 Match of the Year." Obviously, time will tell if that is true or not, but if it is, we could see Ovechkin announcing his retirement from hockey as a whole or possibly just the NHL.
Former AHL forward Giovanni Fiore has signed with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. The deal is expected to be a one-year deal.
Additionally, former Ottawa Senators forward Garrett Pilon is signing a one-year contract with Barys. The contract is expected to run until May 31, 2027.
Next, Norwegian goalie Henrik Haukeland is signing with Traktor of the KHL. The 31 year old, took to social media to explain his decision to sign with his new club.
Lastly, Nikita Pavlychev, who spent the majority of his time in the AHL and ECHL is heading overseas. Reports indicate that Shanghai Dragons and Traktor are the two clubs interested.
