When the Edmonton Oilers were eliminated from playoff contention by the Anaheim Ducks in Round one. Most around the hockey world expected their players to take the summer to rest and recover after some lengthy playoff runs over the last few seasons.

However, that isn't the case for both Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse. Both players are planning to take their talents to Switzerland and represent Team Canada at the 2026 World Hockey Championships.

For Bouchard, this is his first appearance at the Worlds. But he has represented Canada in the past at the 2019 World Juniors. As for Nurse, he played for Canada at the Worlds back in 2018.

This past season, Bouchard had 21 goals and 74 assists for 95 points in 82 games, and Nurse had seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points.

The 2026 Worlds run from May 15 to 31 and will take place in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.
