The Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup on June 24 and its off-season tour has already begun so that each of the team’s eligible players and staff members get their day with the trophy. So far, the following European dates have been confirmed as per HockeyNews.se and MTVUutiset.fi:
July 31: Aleksander Barkov – Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland
August 1: Oliver Ekman Larsson – Dackehallen in Tingsryd, Sweden
August 2: Gustav Forsling – Saab Arena in Linköping, Sweden
August 3: Kevin Stenlund – Ishuset (Ice House) in Tumba, Sweden
This list will be updated as more dates are confirmed.
Finnish players Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen and Niko Mikkola are also eligible for a day with the Cup, as is Finnish assistant coach Tuomo Ruuttu and Austrian goaltending coach Jürgen Penker. The Finns will be present at Barkov’s event in Tampere and will presumably have their own individual days prior.
Latvian defenseman Uvis Balinskis and Swedish defenseman Tobias Björnfot did not play enough games to qualify.
Russians Sergei Bobrovsky, Dmitri Kulikov and Vladimir Tarasenko are also elibigle for a day with the Cup but are not allowed to bring it to Russia.
