The Utah Hockey Club announced on Tuesday that it is loaning two members of its AHL farm club to Czech Extraliga teams for the remainder of the current season. Defenseman Patrik Koch, 27, is heading to Oceláři Třinec while 25-year-old winger Miloš Kelemen is on his way to Dynamo Pardubice.

Neither Czech club has officially announced the transactions.

Both players started the season for the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL. Koch had two assists and 18 penalty minutes in 10 games and was a plus-4. Keleman had one goal, five assists and 20 penalty minutes in 11 games and was a minus-3.

Both players also represented Slovakia at each of the last two IIHF World Championships and were part of the squad that won its Olympic qualifying group on home ice in Bratislava before the start of the season.

Koch, from Malacky in western Slovakia, went abroad at age 13 to play hockey, first in Czechia for Kometa Brno and then in Austria for Red Bull Salzburg before splitting the 2014-15 season between the USHL and NAHL in the United States.

Never drafted, Koch played professionally in the Czech and Slovak Extraligas before signing with the Arizona Coyotes in the summer of 2023. He played one NHL game for the Coyotes but spent the rest of the season in Tucson, recording 15 points in 65 AHL regular-season and playoff games.

Kelemen, from Lučenec in southern Slovakia, came up through and turned pro with HKM Zvolen. He played two KHL games for Slovan Bratislava and played the 2021-22 season for BK Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Extraliga – a season which saw him selected to the Slovak team that won the Olympic bronze medal in Beijing.

Over the past two seasons, Kelemen tallied a goal and an assist in 24 NHL games for the Coyotes but spent most of the time in Tucson.

Třinec and Pardubice are both in action Tuesday night. Heading into play, Pardubice leads the Extraliga standings with 46 points in 23 games. The team has a number of ex-NHLers, including Roman Červenka, Martin Kaut, Jiří Smejkal, Lukáš Sedlák, Libor Hájek, Jasper Weatherby and Jakub Zbořil. Třinec is the Extraliga’s five-time reigning champion but this season has been a difficult one, which has seen assistant coach Marek Malík resign. Třinec sits 11th out of 14 teams.
