ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild announced on Saturday that forward Liam Ohgren has been reassigned to the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ohgren, 21, was recalled by the Wild under an emergency loan from the AHL for Marcus Johansson who was sick and could not play against the Seattle Kraken.

So the Wild had Ohgren play. Since Johansson was ready to play against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, Ohgren was sent down.

The 6-foot-1 forward scored in the game against Seattle so it would be easy to want to play him again on Saturday against the Sabres.

But, because Ohgren was an emergency recall for Johansson, he can't play unless Johansson isn't playing. They could have changed the recall into a normal recall but then they would be at four recalls which is the max after the trade deadline.
