In their first ever Frozen Four, the Broncos earned a hard-fought, double overtime victory over the reigning national champions.

Western Michigan dominated the first two periods. Graduate defenseman Brian Kramer opened the scoring for the Broncos on the power play, and sophomore forward Owen Michaels pushed their lead to 2-0 heading into the third period.

With their backs against the wall, the Pioneers knotted the game in the final 20 minutes of regulation, with goals scored by junior forwards Jared Wright and Aidan Thompson.

After a scoreless first overtime period, Michaels buried the winner just 26 seconds into the second extra session. Senior Matt Davis was excellent as always for Denver, stopping 44 shots, and freshman Hampton Slukynsky made 20 saves for Western Michigan.

After a scoreless first period in which the Terriers controlled, senior forward Jack Hughes opened the scoring for BU 1:35 into the middle frame.

Later in the second period, freshman defenseman Cole Hutson found freshman forward Cole Eiserman on a 2-on-1, who blasted home a one-timer to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Freshman forward Nicholas DeGraves drew the Nittany Lions within one goal in the third period before sophomore forward Jack Harvey daggered Penn State with an empty net tally.

Freshman Mikhail Yegorov stopped 32 of 33 shots in the win for BU, and junior Arsenii Sergeev made 30 saves in the loss for the Nittany Lions.
