The finalists for the 2024 Hobey Baker Memorial Award were announced on Thursday with the three nominees being Macklin Celebrini, Jackson Blake and Cutter Gauthier.
With many talented players being considered for the award, the three finalists named all had massive impact on their programs during the 2023-24 NCAA season.
Celebrini, a freshman with Boston University, all but solidified himself as the first overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft, putting up an impressive 64 points in 37 games to lead the Terriers in scoring.
Gauthier, one of many offensive weapons on the Eagles, played a huge role in their success this season. The Anaheim Ducks prospect finished second on the team with 64 points in 39 games played.
Having had his name in the spotlight over the last few months, Gauthier hasn't let the noise impact him and he should make a clean step into the Ducks lineup.
Jackson Blake, the North Dakota sophomore, followed up an impressive freshman campaign in 2022-23 with an even better output. The Carolina Hurricanes prospect finished with 60 points in 40 games played to lead the Fighting Hawks in scoring.
The three finalists finished two, three, four in NCAA scoring (Gauthier, Celebrini and Blake) behind Sharks prospect Will Smith who lead the country in points.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, April 12 live on NHL Network, starting at 6:00 p.m. ET.
