Yesterday the Big Ten Hockey Conference announced all their awards for the 2023-24 season. Today we look at the Big Ten Coach of the Year, Adam Nightingale.
Michigan State's head coach Adam Nightingale took a team that went 12-23-1 in the regular season and finished last in the Big Ten to an 18-18-2 record in his first season.
A year later his Michigan State Spartans are now 23-9-3 and have won the Big Ten Regular Season Championship.
Nightingale owns a two-year record of 41-27-5. That record stands as the second-most wins for any coach in program history over their first two years.
An incredible turnaround for the Spartans who not only got their first-ever Big Ten Regular Season Championship but are set to play in the Big Ten Championship on Saturday against the Michigan Wolverines.
Nightingale has got the Spartans playing some very good hockey recently and definitely deserves this award for Big Ten Coach of the Year.
