Sioux Falls Stampede forward Adyn Merrick has committed to Ferris State, it was confirmed over the weekend.
Hailing from Saline, Mich., Merrick split this past season between the Stampede and the BCHL's Langley Rivermen. Across 23 BCHL games, Merrick scored 11 goals and added 10 assists for 21 points while putting up six goals and 11 points in 28 USHL games.
Having made the jump to the junior level for the 2022-23 season, Merrick has spent time in the USHL (Sioux Falls Stampede & Youngstown Phantoms), the BCHL (Langley Rivermen) and the NAHL (Springfield Jr. Blues). Prior to that, Merrick played his minor hockey with Compuware and Little Caesars.
With Merrick headed off to join the Bulldogs in the fall, he should be able to grab a role with the team early on and contribute on both sides of the puck. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing over 200 pounds, Merrick is built for the physicality of the collegiate game and will be a good addition as a freshman.
