Former Barrie Colts forward Anthony Romani has committed to Michigan State, it was announced earlier this week.

Romani, a 2024 sixth round pick of the Vancouver Canucks, just finished his fourth OHL season, putting up 21 goals and 14 assists for 35 points in 35 games split between the Colts and the North Bay Battalion. Having helped the Colts make the playoffs, Romani was key to their deep run, scoring 12 goals and adding 12 assists for 24 points in 16 games.

Drafted by the Battalion in the third round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Romani appeared in 223 career regular season games, collecting 110 goals and 93 assists for 203 points. Romani added a further 40 points in 52 playoff games.

With Romani heading to join the Spartans, they will be getting a terrific offensive player who could very well put up a point per game in his freshman season. Having finished with 58 goals and 111 points in only 68 games last year, Romani will be a key cog on a strong Michigan State team who will challenge for the national championship.
