West Point's defensive corps strengthens as Lance McCloskey commits, joining his brother to ignite the Black Knights' blueline.

Army West Point makes a nice addition of blueliner Lance McCloskey from the Western Hockey League.

McCloskey, a native of Newport Beach, CA, only spent one season in the WHL as an 18-year-old, playing in 60 games for the Vancouver Giants.

The Giants finished last in the Western Conference, but ended up with more points than a few Eastern Conference teams, a record of 25-39-2-2.

Prior to his time in Canadian juniors, McCloskey was a unit at Fairmont Prep, posting 83 points in just 54 games in the 18U AAA division.

Lance will join his brother, Lukas McCloskey, at West Point, who just completed his first season at the program, registering 27 games.

Lukas is slightly older and bigger, slotted as 6’3 216 lbs compared to Lance’s 6’1 190 lbs.

Army finished their season 12-17-6, losing their last three and getting knocked out by Niagara in the Atlantic Hockey America tournament.
