The Boston Bruins have signed former Cornell forward Dalton Bancroft to a one-year entry-level deal, it was announced Thursday.

Bancroft, a product of Madoc, Ont., will join the Providence Bruins on am amateur try-out for the remainder of the season.

Having just finished his junior season with the Big Red, Bancroft scored 15 goals and added 12 assists for 27 points in 36 games. Across 103 career games with Cornell, he accumulated 36 goals and 43 assists for 79 points.

Prior to making the jump to the NCAA, Bancroft played his junior hockey in the GOJHL (St. Marys Lincolns), MJAHL (Amherst Ramblers) and the OJHL (Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks).

Although his deal is only for one year, Bancroft has had to prove himself at every level he's played at and has found success wherever he's gone. A skilled player who has a knack for scoring goals, Bancroft should be able to find success within the Bruins system.
