After their 1-0 win over New Hampshire, Boston College won the 2024 Hockey East Regular Season title for their 18th Hockey East regular season title and first since 2021.
BC have won 12 games in a row in Hockey East play; the longest streak by a Hockey East team since the Eagles' 12-game win streak in 2012-13. They have won their last eight games and are 19-3-1 in conference play and 27-5-1 overall.
Boston College have been powered by a trio of players who are top three in the NCAA in points. Will Smith leads the NCAA in assists and points, Cutter Gauthier leads the NCAA in goals with 31, and Gabe Perreault is second in assists with 35 and third in points with 50.
They have also got great goaltending this season and have been led by freshman goaltender Jacob Fowler. The 6-foot-2 goalie is fifth in the NCAA in goals-against-average with a 2.17 GAA.
Fowler, 19, also ranks fourth in the NCAA in save percentage with a .924 SV% amongst goalies who have played over 1,000 minutes this season. Fowler notched a 27 save shutout last night against New Hampshire.
Boston College wraps up the regular season at Merrimack on Saturday, March 9th before the Hockey East playoffs begin on March 13th.
