The Anaheim Ducks have signed prospect Cutter Gauthier to a three-year entry-level contract, the team announced Sunday.

The 2022 5th overall pick of the Philadelphia Flyers was acquired by the Ducks on Jan. 8th in exchange for defenseman Jamie Drysdale and a 2025 second-round selection.

Gauthier, who was named a Hobey Baker finalist, has been one of the NCAA's best players since he arrived on the Eagles' campus in the fall of 2022. This past season, Gauthier scored 38 goals and added 27 assists for 65 points in 41 games played. Over the course of his NCAA career, he scored 54 goals and added 48 assists for 102 career points in 73 career games.

Gauthier's accomplishments this season were quite long, with the sophomore leading the NCAA in goals scored and game-winning goals as well as being named an NCAA All-American and a Hockey East First Team All-Star.

Gauthier will certainly be a welcomed addition to the Ducks system. With one of the best shots outside of the NHL, Gauthier can pick and choose where he wants to shoot the puck with ease. He can manipulate his release angle while being able to get it off in stride.

Gauthier joins a talented young Ducks core that already boasts the likes of Trevor Zegras, Mason McTavish, Pavel Mintyukov, Leo Carlsson and Olen Zellweger.

Gauthier is expected to play in the Ducks last game of the season when the team take on the Vegas Golden Knights on April 18th.
