Boston University Lands Commitment from 2028 Draft Eligable Defenseman

Boston University has landed an exciting addition to its future defensive group, as 2028 NHL Draft-eligible defenseman Christian Semetsis has committed to the Terriers.

Currently competing with the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP) U18 team, Semetsis brings an intriguing combination of skating ability, offensive instincts, vision, and physicality that makes him an exciting prospect to follow.

One of the most noticeable aspects of Semetsis’ game is his skating. He is a strong, fluid skater who uses his mobility and edge work to create space, escape pressure, and generate offensive opportunities. He has the ability to carry the puck through the neutral zone and has the ability to drive the play from the back end.

Semetsis also excels in traffic, showing confidence and composure when working in tight areas and under pressure. He has good hands and can use it well in transition and when pushing the puck through the offensive zone. His vision is another important part of his offensive game, as he does a nice job identifying passing lanes and finding teammates in dangerous areas.

What makes him particularly intriguing is his willingness to combine that skill with a physical edge. Semetsis isn't afraid to throw his body around, engage in battles, and make life difficult for opposing players. He brings a competitive edge that complements his offensive skill set.

His ability to create space with his skating, make plays with his hands, and recognize opportunities before they develop gives him the tools to become an effective play-driving defenseman at the next level.

For Boston University, Semetsis represents an exciting commitment with plenty of upside. The Terriers are adding a defenseman who can contribute offensively, play with an edge, and impact the game in multiple ways.

This is a high upside play and the team will have some time now to plan their future classes
