ST. PAUL - The Hobey Baker Memorial Award Committee announced Boston University's Macklin Celebrini as the 44th ever recipient of the Hobey Baker Award.
Celebrini was incredible in his freshman season for Boston University. In 38 games for the Terriers, Celebrini put up 32 goals and 64 points as a 17-year-old.
The projected No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft did something that not many freshman have done in their careers and he did it as a 17-year-old after he accelerated his learning to be eligible for college this year.
The last Boston Terriers player to have won the Hobey Baker Award was Jack Eichel who did it in 2015.
Now, Celebrini can add 'Hobey Baker Award Winner' to his impressive and fast growing resume. He also has won the Tim Taylor Rookie of The Year Award.
