The Boston Bruins prospect has one more season of eligibility left

Boston University defender Ty Gallagher has entered the transfer portal, it was announced Tuesday.
Drafted by the Bruins in the seventh round (217th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Gallagher had five assists in 37 games this season. Throughout his three years with the Terriers, he scored eight goals and added 34 assists for 42 points in 111 games.
Having just wrapped up his junior season, Gallagher has one season of college eligibility remaining. For a team looking for a smart puck-moving defender, Gallagher would be a good target.
The Bruins have until Aug. 15 of next year of he becomes a free agent. If Gallagher has a bounce back season, he should be a good candidate to get a contract from the Bruins.
