Gravel is playing for the BCHL's Prince George Spruce Kings
Prince George Spruce Kings goalie Charles-Edward Gravel has committed to Mercyhurst, it was announced earlier this month.
Gravel, who is in his final season of junior eligibility, recently joined the Spruce Kings after spending the majority of the year with the QMJHL's Saint John Sea Dogs.
In four games with the Spruce Kings, Gravel has put together a record of 3-0-0, a 1.69 GAA and a .939 SP. Prior to that, Gravel had a record of 14-14-0 to go along with a 2.82 GAA and a .914 SP in 28 appearances with the Sea Dogs.
Drafted by the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the second round of the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft, Gravel had made 176 career QMJHL regular season appearances with the Armada, Sea Dogs and the Base-Comeau Drakkar. In that span, he posted a record of 79-76-9, a 3.12 GAA and a .900 SP.
With Gravel having committed to join the Lakers next season, he should be able to make an immediate difference for the team. A calm, composed goaltender, Gravel has played well at every level and will be one to watch for as he begins his NCAA career.
